Long time, No post!
Hi readers,
I haven’t made an entry in such a long time, probably because I haven’t had much to say or enough time to actually make a post! Nonetheless, I’m posting now! I have a new phone, the HTC Desire! Yes it rocks! I’m actually making my first post using it right now.
I made an unboxing video for it and failed quite terribly. I’m still deciding whether or not I should upload it onto Facebook.
Html 5 has been out due awhile and I still need to try it out, I’ve read great things about it..I just need to get gritty with it now!
Still doing some freelance work whilst working part-time! Oh the fun never stops!
This day been my small update! Hopefully by then I’ll have better content and have some review of some sort ready about the HTC Desire!

Opportunities
Well, now that’s university is done with, I’m now moving onto the next chapter of my life. This can consist of two things. Working towards finding my career whilst saving up for a masters course. Whichever happens first either I find my career before my masters course or I go for my masters before I land my career job, I’ll be happy with either one.
So far I’ve got two freelance jobs, both clients were referred to me by a close friend. These are very new experiences for me as I’m not too familiar with the working method of a freelancers life. I’ll get use to it overtime. Both of the projects I’m working on are very interesting and I have taken interests in how my clients will further themselves in the commercial world with a website drivin them.
It’s up to me to have faith in my abilities and open mind to be able to adjust to situations and problems (though none have occured yet, thank goodness 
)
As I raise my Robinsons orange juice, I propose a toast to all freelancers whatever your profession and wish us all the best in our endeavours!
Time Flies!
Wow! Just as my post title indicates! Time sure does fly! You’d think that after making a short film and typography on the subject, I’d be a little bit more appreciative about how I use it! 
I got my university results last week and after four years of studying Media Technology and Kingston University, I came out with a 2.1. I’m very proud of my result as it’s a very respectable grade. I took pride in my work and I’m glad that I got a good result, although I was aiming for a First, but this goes to show that if you aim for the highest goal then only great results can be expected! Congratulations to everybody on the course! I’m very happy that you made it to the finish line as we all could not wish for this day to come although, thinking back to it now..I miss those days as I was so use to taking orders and being told what to do, whereas now I am now in the real world and will have to find my own path and set my own objectives.

Street Fighter: Legacy – Short Fan Film
Yes, I know I haven’t posted in a long time. I’ve just been relaxing for a bit and completely forgot to blog! Well I guess it means I can write one CHUBBY post of an update (which I won’t do just yet 
) but don’t worry..I promise to keep my blog better updated from now on.

End of a Milestone
Yes, well it’s practically the end of university for me now. I handed in my final year project on Monday which consisted of the following three items:
- My website - jusren.com
- Time Typography – Time for Greatness
- Time (Abstract Trailer) – Time
What lies next for me is one exam that I have on 22nd June and after that I will begin to focus more on racking up more work hours whilst searching and applying for my career job! Speaking of jobs, I’ll be working on another project for a website that my friend got started on and so I will do my best to keep this blog updated with those events and especially with all this upcoming free time I’ll be learning how to create my own WordPress themes. My girlfriend got me the Smashing Magazine – Beyond the Blog book for my birthday. I’ll definitely let you know how I find the book! Fingers crossed that it’s not too difficult! Although PHP is a language I haven’t really worked with before 
..I guess nobody said this was going to be easy!

Another Layout Concept
Ahhhh! I’ve been working on this for awhile! The reason why it’s taken me so long is because of the designers mind block! Then out of nowhere! The block is lifted and I come out with another design.
For my concept, I was inspired by simple minimalism. What helped me better envision this was a collection of black and white sites: http://www.inspiredm.com/2009/04/21/colorblind-awesomeness-40-inspirational-black-white-websites/
Here it is! My design concept, personally..I prefer this one as I feel I utilised the use of the grid system a lot better and I get a very good organised theme from it, or is it just me (trying not to be too biased ) You would have noticed that I have been posting a lot more about layout concepts, that is because my site is in dire need of a re-vamp.
I just remembered that I forgot to add the usual Copyright and footer navigation at the footer block of the concept. I will be adding this immediately and making another post just to update you all and give you a better look at how it will look.
For now however, let me know what you think of it so far.
HERE IS THE UPDATE:
You’ve probably noticed the little decor above the box “About Ren Q.” the reason I added this was to see how the design would look if I added this to all of the boxes. Looking at it here, I prefer it without the decor.
Next here is how the concept looks without the circles above the “About Ren Q.” just so you can get a better look at a finished product.

Trying to get back into Photoshop *AGAIN*
Here is an image that I tried to re-create with a tutorial that I found on http://abduzeedo.com. The reason why I chose to do this tutorial was for two reasons.
- I wanted to use this as an opportunity to re-familiarise myself with Photoshop again.
- Was to find out how to make pretty stars in Photoshop so that I may use it in one of my other layout concepts. (Which I am currently having a mind block for!!)
Here are the results from the tutorial. I know it’s an ‘A’ I will be re-doing that part to form ‘R’ .
I found this tutorial enjoyable and it also gave me the opportunity to find out about the Rendering filter that is used to generate clouds and lens flare. This tutorial was not too difficult and was pretty much straight forward and is not too time consuming (took me about 30 minutes, that’s because I am trying to re-familiarise myself with Photoshop! =P) I would recommend this tutorial if you are interested in stars and lighting, plus it’s really easy!

New Theme
Hi All,
As you can see, I am using a new theme it’s name is Overstand.
I’m having a bit of trouble, customising it to my personal preferences. However you like the look of this blog theme, you can find it here from FakeBlog.de . There’s a plug-in here named “Get Custom Field Values” which I’ve never heard of and I need to get the grip of it so I can start adding images to headline my blog posts *sigh* Help me somebody!
If you are currently using this theme and are familiar with it, please drop me a line as I could do with some help customising this blog.

Almost Done
As the title hints! I’m almost done with university, four years seem to have passed so quickly! The friends I’ve made and the whole experience has been unforgettable! Just two more teaching weeks left for lectures!
I predict this coming week to be a slightly stressful one! As I have two deadlines on Tuesday, I have a group project due in (stay tuned for that! As I intend on uploading it to Vimeo, if I think it’s good enough). Once that project has been handed in I will then have a class test to deal with . Although it’s a multiple choice test, the questions still have to be worked out with mathematics . Yup! final weeks of uni sure pack a punch! Just writing this on the underground, and will be uploading it as soon as I get home. (I have to upload from home because I’m using my itouch to do this post and I don’t have an iPhone.

Ahhhh it sure does look like a beauty. Not too long until my upgrade in August and I will have to decide between the iPhone (3gs or 4g if it’s out by then) and the HTC Desire. Decisions decisions!!
